How do you become a fun person to hang out with? None of my friends are very fun to hang out with, so I'm afraid when I hang out with other people that I'm not fun. What makes a person fun to be around?

I don't think being a fun person to hang around with means you have to be constantly happy. I've been diagnosed with Depression and am currently being tested for Bipolar Disorder, the majority of my friends know nothing of this. I'm not saying I'm fake, but I still laugh and joke around with my friends and have genuine fun while doing it.

One thing I would say, if your friends aren't fun to hang around with, why don't you make some new friends?

A sense of humour and genuine personality (that means your's, not anyone else's) always win the day. Don't attempt to be something you're not by constantly making jokes or being happy, as cliche as it is, just be yourself. The majority of people don't want someone who is always on a high, it's important to know when to be sincere and there for someone.

I'm thinking of making up some simple, to-the-point Babysitting fliers to put around in my neighbors mailboxes.

I have experience.. and I'm 19 years old, but here's one of the questions - do you think that's creepy if I do that? lol

I want them to be very simple, but at the same time give just enough information where they consider me... what exactly should I put?

Thanks

That sounds like a good idea and not creepy, although you may find that some parents are a little dubious about leaving their children with someone they've never met.

Just make a simple flyer including the following:
- Your name and age
- Your contact details
- When you are available
- Your rates

It might also be good to add that you live locally and that you are happy to meet with the parents for a chat to put their mind at rest or answer any questions.

my face is dry and when i put on moisterizer its not dry
but after a while my face gets oily or it get shiny so i but some pressed powder on my face and it gets dry again
-how can i make my skin normal without being dry and oily

I would advise using products specially formulated for your skin type. Most cheaper skin products do different ranges for different skin types, try using those especially for oily skin. Another tip is to go to a make up counter such as Clinique, who do really good skincare products. They can analyse your skin and reccomend the best products for you. Clinqiue is pretty expensive but you'll find you get what you pay for.

I swear by Liz Earle products, you can find the UK website here: http://uk.lizearle.com/index_2.php and the US one here: http://us.lizearle.com/index_2.php
They also ship to Germany and the Republic of Ireland. Their simple 3-step programme is brilliant and they also do products formulated for different skin tones.

A few other tips:
- Try using skin oil blotting paper instead of powder, as they should absorb the oil without making your skin dry. You should be able to find them at most cosmetics stores.
- I would highly reccomend switching to loose powder rather than pressed. Pressed powder tends to apply too thickly, resulting in the dryness. Getting a neutral coloured loose powder and dusting it over the shiny areas with a brush.
- You also might find that using a tinted moisturiser will help keep your skin moisturised but not oily.

do you think it's wrong to break up with a guy using the message board on his online journal....which everyone can see and knows you broke up with him....before him does...?

Unless someone cheated on you or treated you badly in anyway, they ALWAYS deserve to be told with courtesy and respect. Being broken up with is horrible, especially when it's with someone you genuinely care about, and it should be done in the nicest possible way.

i'm bringing my ex with me on vacation in july. we broke up in april, but we both decided that we were still gonna stay good friends and see where things go from there. i'm still in love with him. he broke it with me because he said his feelings changed, but he said he still wanted me in his life, and i know he means it too. we're going to myrtle beach together and do you think theres a chance of him falling back in love if we're like on the beach at night flirting and hanging out? what do you think of this situation? and what things can i do to make it as romantic as possible. i would do absolutely anything to get back with this guy.

17/f, 17/m
thanks so much for your time.

oh and we were together for about 9 months, if that helps. and we met in the summer and starting dating in the summer.

This is a difficult situation. While the fact that he has agreed to come on holiday with you is promising, he may have completely innocent intentions. You need to be really careful because you risk getting hurt if he doesn't return your feelings.

Personally, I think you should find out before you go whether or not he still has feelings for you or not. If you don't you may end up embarassing yourself, let alone getting hurt.

If you insist on waiting until your holiday, then don't do anything too over the top or 'romantic'. Suggest walks together etc but don't do anything which you may regret if he doesn't feel the same.

Good luck.

Since it's the summer for me, I wanted to start an excersize I can do daily and enjoy the warm weather. I wanted it to be something like walking or running, but I dont think walking does that much for your body, so I was leaning more towards running.

The problem is, I have trouble when I try to run. My teeth feel like there's something wrong with them, like they're bleeding or something. It sounds really weird and i'm going to go to my doctor about it because I want to do a running type excersize this summer, but I wanted to know if you guys have ever come into contact with a problem like that. Thanks.

Oh and I'm an 18 year old girl if that makes a difference.

I think I know what you mean concerning the problem with your teeth when running. It could actually be that the force of the wind against your teeth when you're running is hurting them because you have sensitive teeth. Make an appointment with your doctor asap to ensure it's nothing more serious and/or to get treatment.

However, don't underestimate walking. It can actually be equally as beneficial as running, can be more enjoyable and in your case, less painful.

Build it up slowly. Start with a 10-15 minute BRISK (this is the key here, you won't be getting the benefits if you're just strolling) walk around your block or wherever you feel most comfortable everyday. Step it up to 20-25 minutes when you get used to this and add 10 minutes everytime you feel able. Obviously you may not have the time or energy to walk for an hour at a time everyday, so don't feel bad if you can only manage 10-15 minutes some days. If you're finding it too difficult, reduce your walking time by 10 minutes for a while.

What do you do if the penis doesn't fit?
15/f

It's virtually impossible for it 'not to fit', although it can be difficult at first. Remember that the vagina is designed to accomodate a baby and does stretch. Ensure that lots of lubricant is used and that you are entirely comfortable with what is happening. If you are tense, your muscles will seize up and won't be relaxed enough. This makes it very difficult for the penis to enter.

There are some conditions which mean that the vagina cannot physically accomodate a penis. These are often due to physcological or muscular problems and can be remedied. If you are worried you have a similar problem then visit your doctor.

However, you are only 15 and shouldn't be having sex, or worrying about this problem, in the first place. If you insist on doing so, please ensure you are using effective contraception and don't do anything you aren't comfortable with.

i'm 15 and female. i'm from south africa. i kissed my boy friend and a few days later i got a cold sore. i think i now have the herpe virus. i really cant stop thinking about it.
now i really want to know, should i be worried?
will i get sores around my virgina?
is the any way of preventing that from happening?

You don't need to be worried. The coldsore virus is very common, many people have it. If your boyfriend had a coldsore when you kissed him, had just had or was about to get one, then you may have caught it from him. However, you could just have had the virus anyway and never experienced an outbreak.

As long as there is no mouth-to-genital contact (i.e. oral sex) while you have the coldsore, then you have nothing to worry about. Simply having the coldsore virus won't give you genital herpes. If your boyfriend were to perform oral sex on you while he had a coldsore then obviously you would be at risk. The same goes for you, don't go anywhere near anyone's genitals with your mouth until the coldsore is fully cleared up.

There are several over-the-counter remidies for coldsores, including creams designed to be applied as soon as you feel a coldsore coming on in order to prevent it. Using such creams and ointments should help clear it up quicker and prevent them from happening in future.

i'm a girl aged 15:

So i had a weird dream the other day and i was own up around my 20's & looking to buy a house.
I found a perfect house and was about to sign the papers, the house was rather dark looking inside. But i still agreed to sign & just seconds before i was about to sign the agreement a voice just comes out at me. It was a demon like voice saying things like "get out of my house" "you don't belong here". It was a whole mess of angry things and i started screaming back saying i owned the place and i wasn't leaving. Then i got surrounded by a dark cloud inside the house, i got scared & i woke up. What could this mean?

Honestly, this just sounds like a nightmare. It's unlikely to have any deep meaning, but could perhaps reflect any insecurities or stresses you are going through at the moment, especially if it reoccurs. Have a look at your life at the moment and try and determine whether there's anything going on at the moment which is causing you stress/unhappiness/insecurities etc. It's likely that once you've fixed whatever this is, you'll stop having bad dreams.

Having said that, it could be a complete one off just because you had a bad day. I highly doubt it's anything to worry about.

If you're still concerned, maybe try looking it up on a website. There are hundreds but here's the first one that came up on Google:

Well I'm a really good driver, i've finished drivers ed & everything, I just have to wait till my sixteenth birthday which is october, which I know is a while from now.. But I like to think ahead. My mom got a new vehicle for her birthday, so my dad took her old one, and now I have my dads, it's a 2003 Isuzu Rodeo, which is great and all, I know many people dont even have vehicles and I should be greatful, which I am. But I really really really want a Mazda3 like 2007, not even new. But I know if I ask them they'll freak out and get all mad. I really want that car, Id do like anything to get it. So are there anyways you think I could persuade my parents? I'm definitely getting a job. So they wanted to give me money but I don't even want that cause I can get money with a job. So please help

You've answered your own question, you're lucky to have a car in the first place. Myself and plenty of my friends would do anything to have ANY car. 2007 is still pretty new and it will be expensive, so of course your parents are going to freak out, especially in the current climate. You would have to save up for a very long time in order to afford a car from the wages of a part time job at your age.

If you are absolutely set on getting this car, then perhaps look into trade-in schemes or think about selling your current car. That way you'd have to pay less for the car you want.

Remember though, a car is a car, if it gets you from A to B without any problems then be content.

does anyone have unconventional ways to fall asleep? like does listening to white noise help?

I listen to the radio but not channels with music on. I don't know where you are, but in the UK we have BBC Radio 4 which has plays, news, general topical shows etc. I find that because generally the voices are at the same tone/level it helps to fall asleep. Also if you're listening to whatever's on it distracts you from anything else you might be thinking about that's keeping you up.

i know how to give hickeys, i think they're pretty fun. the thing is that i want to give my boyfriend one, but then we're still in school. the reason why it's stopping me, it's because we have the same teachers and they all know we're going out. because we seem to have a safe relationship around school, because you know the rules.. no PDA-ing. but the question is, even if i don't give hickeys or just start kissing his neck.. how can i make it seem pleasurable for him? whenever i kiss or suck on his neck... he seems ticklish. is there a way where i can change that into something pleasurable? thanks (:

Hickeys aren't fun, they can actually be rather painful. Where I live, in the UK, they're occasionally known as 'slag tags'. If you must do it, please make sure it's not somewhere visible. He might just have a ticklish neck, I'd ask him.

is it true that good quality products comefrom expensive products?

like for examly makeup

if i buy a 5 dollar eyeshadow for a smkey eye, a 34 dollar one would be better?

true or false

i dont get it..

why?

Although more expensive products do tend to give better results (they also tend to last longer as you don't need to use much to get the desired effect), it's not uncommon to find a wonder product that costs next to nothing.

I like to use Clinque foundation and Benefit concealer, because I do find they last longer and give better coverage. However, I use a cheap Rimmel liquid eyeliner and it works just as well as any high-end product. It's also important to look at what works for you. If you prefer the colour and feel of a cheaper foundation compared to a more expensive one, then go for the cheaper one.

Okay so my mom and i have always had a semi-close relationship. But she just got a facebook... and she wants me to be her friend on it. I have no problem with the fact she got a facebook, but i kind of need my personal space when it comes to these things. I dont want her to read what i say to my friends and such.... its not that they're bad. It's just that i'm really uncomfortable with it. I told her all of this and she's making me feel extremely guilty, and telling me that i'm SUCH a good daughter for not accepting (sarcasm).
So i really don't know what do do.
Am i horrible for doing this?
What do you guys think?
15/f

I know what this feels like because I've got aunts and friend's parents with Facebook.

You've already explained to your mum that you don't feel comfortable having her as a friend on Facebook which is brilliant. The next time she brings it up, make it clear that it's not because you're embarassed of her or trying to hide anything but that you need to have some privacy. Ask her if she would be happy with you seeing everything that goes on in her life and the conversations she has with her friends.

You've got a good relationship with her, I'm sure that eventually she'll either drop it or understand your reasons.

ugh ok so my lips are always bright red and peeling. it never goes away and i can never peel all of it off :[
HOW CAN I GET RID OF THIS?! and make them not red... they never used to be like this.

I also compulsivley put on chapstick ha ha but even went i cut back on chapstick it still didnt go away ...
is it the chapstick? or my lips? or rubbing them together too much? HELP

First thing; NEVER peel/pick chapped lips. It will make them redder and sorer and could leave scars.

Try doing this every night for a couple of weeks:
Apply Vaseline and gently rub your lips with a SOFT toothbrush (ones that are designed for babies and very small children are best). Afterwards, apply another coat of Vaseline. You should start to see a result within a week or so.

Another good tip is to burst open a vitamin E capsule and apply it to your lips. Doing this every now and again should really give your lips a boost.

Avoid licking your lips or rubbing them together. I know it can be really difficult not to, especially when they're sore as often you don't realise you're doing it but it may help alot if you try and stop. Everytime you lick your lips it will just dry them out more and result in them being more sore. Similarly, don't be tempted to apply chap stick or anything too often or you won't feel the effects as much and become almost 'desenstised' to it.

Finally, try and get your hands on some Carmex. It is absolutely brilliant for keeping your lips soft and happy and works better than chap stick. If you can't find it, then again, Vaseline is really good for keeping them hydrated.

If your lips don't seem to be getting any better despite trying the above, then I would suggest you go and see your doctor to make sure there's not any further problem and to see if they can prescribe you anything.

im currently doing AS philosophy (in the UK), and i have two exams coming up in a month. In lessons, we dont write much, the teacher just talks and we discuss things. So, i havnt written many notes, everything i need to know is in a collection of textbooks.
The thing is though, i just cant read them all, it wont sink in. it doesnt go past my eyes, so what are some other ways for me to study? ive tried reading and highlighting...then making notes about the key points, but theres sooo much material to get through, it seems impossible, and i have four other subjects to be studying aswell. any help?

I'm also doing AS Philosophy and have two exams!

Our teacher has also been pretty bad but in the opposite way, all we do is copy down notes.

I know what you mean about the amount of material, it really is alot. I find it's really helpful if you read through the topics one at a time and maybe make some mind maps or flash cards of the key philosophers and their arguments. After each topic, try doing a practice exam question (your teacher may have given you some already, if not then go to the exam board website as they should have past papers there).

Don't be tempted to do too much revision of one subject at a time because you'll just get overloaded. Try doing one topic in Philosophy everyday and don't spend more than two hours on it per day, leaving you time to study your other subjects. You should find that after you've revised the topic once, you'll start to remember more and more as you go back over it.

Good luck!

me and my boyfriend had the most perfect relationship in the world. i mean EVERYTHING was just perfect. he lived next to me so i could always visit him. we could walk to the beach everyday and hang out there every night. our parents were frinds so we always got to see eachother. he was in 3 of my classes at school. we rode the same bus. etc. everything was just great. we have been going out for 6 months. but we had been best friends for 2 years. he told me everything and we were so close. i was hesitant to go out with him because he was a player and had alot of girls at the same time. but i trusted him because he always told me which girls he was with and he was very truthful to me while we were best friends. when we started going out we were so in love and nothing else seemed to matter. everything was amazing. we spent everyday together and texted whenever we couldnt be together. then i think maybe we fell out of the honeymoon stage and the real problems started coming. rumors that he was with other girls, him thinking i was trying to change for him, me being too clingy, him being an asshole. etc. we started fighting all the time. then he sed we needed a break. so we went on a break and ended up breaking up for good. i was so upset and he dodnt seem to care at all. he was being such an asshole to me. then he decided he wanted to make things work. but that he wasnt ready to date me again but he still loved me. so we still acted like we were dating and we werent getting with any other people. so everything was fine, then a few days later he said he couldnt take any of this anymore. it was so out of the blue because we were hanging out literally 5 minutes before he said that and everythig was fine. so we didnt talk for a few days, then he randomly called me a few days later and we acted like nothing had happened and we started talking again. let me just mention that he seems to have extreme moodswings. as in the week before we broke up he was saying that he loved me more than anything and was never going to let me go. well the past week he started short answering me and after i got mad that he didnt believe me about something now he wont talk to me at all. i told him that he treated me like shit and he just said oh. i dont know what i did but he started ignoring me. so after 2 days if not talking i confronted him about it today in a text convo because we couldnt see eachother. he was short answering me so i asked why and he said i duno. i asked wat he was mad about n he sed nuthin. i asked what was on his mind and he said something. so i asked what and he said stuff and he wouldnt tell me what. so i tried to talk to him but all he did was short answer me and say K and mhm. i was trying to get an answer out of him and why he wouldnt tell me what was going on but he wouldnt tell me. he jus said it was something to do with me but that i didnt do anything. i dont know if maybe he feels differently about me or something now. he also has started to not believe me about things people say. i dont know what has happened all of a sudden. he started not trusting me and acting like he doesnt love me at all, more like he doesnt know me. also he is ALWAYS flirting with this girl he used to have a thing with. but she says she is in love with her boyfriend. however, he lives in another state. i dont know what to do, all my friends are telling me to leave him because i am just miserable. he is always flirting with other girls, ignoring me and acting like he doesnt care or love me. but i know that he has problems and i want to stick by him through this, yet he is pushing me away. i love him so much and i just want our relationship to go back to how it was before. i know he is an asshole and i really dont like him right now but i still love him and will always and i want him back so bad. please help me i dont know what to do.

I know it's hard to hear, but your friends are right. If this guy really loved and respected you, he wouldn't be putting you through this. If you're still convinced that he's the one for you and that you want to make things work then try giving him one more chance. Confront him face to face, not through text or IM and ask for the truth. If he continues to be vague and refuses to give you a straight answer then walk away. Maybe you will be able to work through this but to me this guy just sounds immature and selfish, certainly not someone who is worth your time.

Hi, im 16/f
i know theres cute things guys do for girls every now and then to make them feel good like flowers or sweet notes and stuff. but what can a girl do thats cute for a guy? just to show she loves him
if it helps my bf is 15, captain of the varsity football and lacrosse team. have been dating for 6 months. thanx!

Seeing as he's a sportsman, going to his games is always a winner - and make sure you take him out for a congratulatory pizza if he wins or to cheer him up if he loses!

I like to buy my boyfriend books I know he wants to read and I always make sure I write a little note in the front for him to read later.

It's also true that the way to a man's heart is through his stomach. Find out what his favourite meal is and surprise him by cooking it for him. Even if you're not a great cook, he'll be sure to appreciate the effort.

Leave notes in his bag/locker/schoolbooks etc, especially if you know he's been feeling low. It's always nice to recieve an unexpected sentiment from someone you care about.

Other little things like bringing him his favourite chocolate bar or sweets when you go to his house are also nice. After an argument with my ex, he met me from school and gave me three Creme Eggs. It wasn't a big deal but it was sweet and I did really appreciate it.

Wearing a perfume you know he likes is also a winner. Similarly, if he's ever bought you jewellery or clothes, wear them from time to time, especially on a date with him. My current boyfriend bought me perfume for Christmas and he always loves it when I wear it, not just because he likes the smell but also because it makes him feel good that I really like something he got me.

Guys aren't so different from girls, they may appreciate flowers less but I'm sure that secretly, they probably love all the other stuff just as much as us.

i got my tongue pierced about a month ago and i think its moving to the front, like its rejecting the piercing. will this happen with the tongue and how long until its to the tip. i really dont want to take out the piercing.

Tongue piercings are notoriously bad for rejection and infection. They're also very dangerous as you can accidentally swallow the ball/bar and damage your teeth - not to mention the serious injury they can cause as a result of poor procedure.

Unfortunately there isn't really much you can do to stop rejection (if that's what it is). I would seriously advise you go to an experienced piercer who should be able to take a look at it and give you professional advice.
